Aber Academi logo.pngThe Aber Academy Forum is open to any members of the university community who are involved with learning and teaching. Lecturers, Postgraduate Tutors, administrative/support staff, and students are all welcome to join.

The Forum aims to help staff and students share good practice in learning and teaching. It will enable staff to create educational resources using media equipment and training provided by the CADARN Learning Portal and by the E-learning Group.

The CADARN Learning Portal is a north and mid-Wales initiative that provides a website listing study schemes across Wales. The website draws upon each member institute's prospectus and features links to educational resources that serve as tasters for study schemes. At Aberystwyth, to help staff make educational resources such as video clips, interactive learning objects, etc., the Learning Portal is providing equipment (such as cameras, microphones, graphics tablets, etc.), a media lab, and training materials available for use by all staff. Aber Academy Forum members will be able to:

  • Receive the latest information about developments in AU’s CADARN provision
  • Be among the first users of the media lab and equipment
  • Encourage colleagues to use AU’s CADARN provision
  • Provide feedback to the Learning Portal
  • Suggest ideas for future provision both at AU and the Learning Portal
  • Organise and participate in events to share good practice in learning and teaching
