Nexus - Sharing Good Practice in Technology-enhanced Learning at Aberystwyth University

Nexus is a good practice website for enhancing learning through technology at Aberystwyth University. It is maintained by Information Services E-learning Support. We are also pleased to introduce the inaugural edition of Aberystwyth University’s Journal of Academic Practice. The papers contained therein reflect key themes in HEIs, such as internationalisation and bilingualism, the student voice, employability, student support and technology enhanced learning.

• News - news about funding opportunities, new technologies, upcoming conferences etc
• AU case studies – descriptions and examples of how technology is being used at AU to enhance teaching
• Reports from the sector – reports from AU staff to share what they have learned from sector via conferences, workshops and meetings, etc
• Good practice guides – pedagogical guides and how-to instructions for using specific tools effectively in teaching
• Resources – recommended web pages, peer-reviewed articles, books, and journals

Aims

This site is designed to encourage effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning. We aim to disseminate good practice in three directions:

• Within AU – to let AU staff know how technology is being used elsewhere in the university
• From AU to the sector – to raise the profile of good practice at AU and share with other institutions
• From the sector to AU – to bring in examples and guidelines on good practice so that AU staff may draw upon them to improve our teaching

  The site is maintained by staff in Information Services E-learning Support, the Centre for Development of Staff and Academic Practice (CDSAP), and the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (PGCTHE) programme.
